EYECANDY SMÖRGASBORD feat. Kanye West, Jay-Z, Biggie Smalls, Jay Reatard, Das Racist, Patrice O’ Neal, Kid Sister
Things to look forward to. Things that rubbed my retina the right way.

I’m looking forward to seeing Better Than Something, a documentary with and about Jay Reatard, much-missed
punk music genius and all-round asshole.
Aside from releasing the documentary itself, the makers have been digging up unreleased images and sound files from Jay’s past. Like this 2006 Angry Angles live cut called “Apparent Transparent”.
More blasts from the past:
This is a picture of DJ 50 Grand’s basement in Brooklyn. He was Notorious B.I.G.’s first DJ.
This is part of the “How Ya Livin’ Biggie Smalls” series of photographs in The Fader magazine, featuring photographs of locations important to B.I.G.’s life and work.
First ever cover of Vogue. Part of the Magazine First Covers series at Retronaut. My favourite is the People cover with Mia Farrow:
OK, back to the current manifestation of the ever expanding and multiplying one we call the ‘now’.
Kanye & Jay-Z posted a new backstage video of the Watch the Throne video at VOYR. The stage is looking incredible, the Kanye quotes are finger-lickin’ pieces of out-of-context-food for haters and inspiration to the rest of us and Hova walks in to take a picture with a kid who shaved WTT in his hair. But the coolest moment for me was when Yeezy and Hova start making their way to the stage and the security walkie talkie crackles “Chi-Town is walking.” *Krrrgh* “New York is walking”.
Cute! Flosstradamus feat. Kid Sister – Luuk Out Girl via FirstUp, where you can also stream Kid Sister’s latest EP “Kiss & Tell”.
A funny one to end:
Das Racist on Conan O’ Brian, which caused quite a stir on the internet and in the Michael Jackson corner. Whatever you think about their MC credentials, this is how you make a TV debut.
