For some people, the ultimate harbinger of summer is that first BBQ or flashing a bit of calf at work. For KNOTORYUS, summer doesn’t really start until the Fashion Department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp graduation runway lights pop on. The time has come… For you to lip-sync for your life, always, but mostly for SHOW2015 to kick off!

On June 12th & 13th, Antwerp fashion students from all four years will once again unleash their painstakingly created art and celebrate the fact that they’re still in the race. Tradition has it that we’ll be there soaking in the talent and evaporated backstage tears while sussing out future hypes and simultaneously trying not to trample the #iconic attendees (“Don’t run over Walter! Don’t sit on Niels’ fur!”).

How amazing is the tradition of the college professors dressing up in their students’ designs on the final night?

+  Can we acknowledge how important Dirk Van Saene is both in life and in this picture?

Shout-out to last year’s graduates! (We see you at Dior Homme, Yens Cuyvers. And you at Christian Dior, Madeleine Coisne. We see you on RiRi, Hyein Seo. And you at Raf, Clara Jungman).  Best of luck to the 2015 Master Crew.

Also : if you are about that model life, don’t forget to go to the casting.

The new-gen good good doesn’t end there.

In the north, another fashion moment is gearing up. On the 26th of June, fashion students of the Royal Academy of Art The Hague will also show their designs during two shows in one night.

KABKshow

Lead by Belgian designer Jurgi Persoons, who became the department head in 2013, this should be quite the spectacle. Persoons’ 1992 graduate collection featured topless models in fetish fashions holding back savage dogs on leashes. When has your principal ever?
