Faris Badwan, the slightly eccentric frontman of the biggest hype of 2009 -The Horrors-, has been working on a side project called 'Lumina'. It's dark, slow, mournful and sounding pretty damn good. Don't know if there will be more Lumina tracks released after this one, though. The song itself, called 'I'll be with you' is a cover of the Black Lips and has been released back in August as a B-side.
See 'I'll be with you' by LUMINA (directed by Faris Badwan) HERE. (Choose country. Then click on Faris)
We love Faris. Even though The Horrors cancelled their show in BXL recently and won't be coming back until February. (Their Brussels concert is sold out, but you can still get tickets to the concert in Ghent.)
After the jump: a backstage trailer to Lumina and free download links to two The Horrors Mixtapes with excellent Detroit House, Rockabilly, Shoegazer and Bollywood.

It's uhm.. Faris. Hasn't slept in two days. And uhm.. He's got a uhm... feather in his ear. He's uhm.. directing a video. For his side project. Lumina. Have I mentioned he hasn't slept in two days? Yeah. Super excited.
There's lots more backstage videos HERE.
Not only are The Horrors a proper good band, Faris and his mates have also made two of my favourite mixtapes of all time:
1. The American Mixtape: a compilation of Detroit House and Bollywood vinyl they smuggled past customs.
2. Stop Making Me (Live at Club Durrr): bikes, babes and violence galore: a huge tracklist of fantastic shoegazer and rockabilly. Unmissable.
