Tom Waits’ first new work in two years is a rendition of “Bella Ciao”, an anti-nazi protest song and unlikely summer hit of 2018, made insanely popular by the series “La Casa De Papel”. The lyrics are about a man leaving his love to fight against the fascists. This new version is part of Marc Ribot’s new collection of protest songs, “Songs of Resistance 1948 – 2018”. The video is a short film documenting the widespread resistance and marches against the policies of the current White House administration.
