Even though “Flower Shower” sticks to most K-Pop rules (a drop every 30 seconds, hooks in every section, dance routine angles in the lyrics, a tune you can literally whistle, etc.), HyunA’s moment is part of something bigger. She recently signed to the new company headed by PSY (remember?), called P Nation. (PSY is also credited for the lyrics and production.) P Nation is breaking with several K-Pop traditions, most significantly: allowing their artists to publicly engage in relationships, so HyunA and her partner Dawn (see: Pentagon) are the first K-Pop artists ever to announce their music simultaneously as a couple. Cute!
Also, the production value of these videos are insane and if you’re in need of a shot of happy feels to break through the jaded day-to-day stuff, this is will definitely do the trick.
