Stippenlift have dropped the video for their summery new single ‘Leven Is Een Keuze’ (‘Living is a choice’) and we have to stan. Created, directed, choreographed and performed by our long-time fave, An-Josefien Falelavaki, the video is a potent representation (it matters) of Polynesian and Melanesian culture. Inspired by and dedicated to AJ’s newly-encountered relatives on her native island of New Caledonia, the videos sees the artist perform a captivating choreo of traditional haka and hula dances in a single take. Stippenlift describes their video as a ‘depriwave superstar confronting her demons in an aquarium store.’ Either way, your soundtrack of the season, consider it sorted.
