The Time Is Now to Support This Anti-Racism Art Fundraiser

We’re keeping the momentum going. This time, turning to the art that adorns our walls. ‘The Time is Now’ is a special online fundraiser in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. The aim is to give back to charities globally that help their local communities fight against systemic racism. Hosted by Galerie Number 8 and Paper Journal, the auction offers limited edition posters, signed prints, T-shirts and books at affordable prices created by more than 70 brilliant artists - including David Uzochukwu, Alexia Fiasco, Mous Lamrabat, Charlie Engman, Fatoumata Guirassy and many more. There is also a raffle you can enter separately or together with your purchase, including one-off prints (Ib Kamara, Maxime Ballesteros…), photo books (Shaniqwa Jarvis, Antwaun Sargent…) and merchandise (Campbell Addy, Harley Weir…). The auction will be live online until August 10 2020. No sleeping!

The origin story of Galerie Number 8 is a wondrous, meandering one that you can hear in full by tuning into founder Marie Gomis-Trezise’s episode of The Most podcast here. This young, much-needed contemporary art gallery represents a diverse line-up of emerging and established artists in photography and mixed media - portraying identity, representation and what it means to be alive today. The gallery’s roster includes David Uzochukwu, Mous Lamrabat, Alexia Fiasco, Djeneba Aduayom, Héctor Mediavilla and more. Paper Journal is a platform that has strived to showcase the best in contemporary visual arts since it was founded in 2013. They are currently based in Melbourne, London and New York.

Now you know the story, take a moment, let a work speak to you and purchase it for yourself or as a kind gift here. You can enter the raffle here.

Johnson Institute (US).

All posters will be shipped weekly on Wednesdays from Galerie Number 8 (Brussels), with free shipping and full tracking. Raffle winners will be announced at the end of the fundraiser.
