Haruki Murakami is probably one of the most widely read authors on the planet right now, but he doesn't deal with interviews that often. In January 2007 he talked exclusively with GQ Japan and a kind and blogging soul has translated the entire interview and put it on the web.
I'm always happy to see any popular author reference to Kenzaburo Oë. If you like Murakami and haven't read Oë, I recommend you start with 'Seventeen & J'. If you can get your hands on 'Lavish are the Dead', I'd pick that one up, too.
