theo + WUJIC JO 'Bean's Tailoring' Eyewear

After interviewing Wujic Jo for the (sold outRoyal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp Fashion Department SHOW Magazine last year and seeing a preview of his 'Bean's Tailoring' graduate collection, it was kind of hard for me not to then start pointing at him while yelling 'FAVE!' in everyone's faces. I am very human when it comes to things likes this.

But turned out, when his collection showed a couple of weeks later, I wasn't the only one cheering as his inventive interpretation of the cherished childhood memory of repetitively binge-watching Mr. Bean got a loud ovation the minute it started going down the runway.

Now. At the Antwerp Fashion Department, the Master students get the opportunity to partner up with brands that provide materials, technical know-how and sometimes even production or the chance to be sold in-stores. For 'Bean's Tailoring', Wujic for instance partnered with Suitsupply for fabrics and Belgian eyewear staple theo gave him the opportunity to design his own specs, which are now available for the public to buy.

The acetate frames come in three different colours (black and two shades of tortoise) and the genius little windshield wipes on the clip-on of course reference Mr. Bean's beloved Mini-Cooper.

Real gems, these are.

The limited edition theo + Wujic Jo eyewear collection is now available at selected stores that carry theo. More info here

Wujic Jo, along with some of his fellow alumni, will also be part of the VOID Exhibition by 1 Granary and Red Hook Labs during New York Fashion week. VOID celebrates young talent and innovative design through an exhibition including the work of fifty graduates from Parsons in New York, Central Saint Martins & the Royal College of Art in London and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, as well as photographic stories by some of the industry’s most exciting creative teams.
