Transforming himself from “overly tall ginger” (Jameela Jamil’s words, not mine) into platinum blond bombshell, James officially covers the song he initially arranged for Frank Ocean’s “Blond” in 2016 and later played live on his Instagram live piano performances. Some people have been describing it as “haunting”, but I don’t hear that at all. It’s a full-on hymn, a hallelujah for love and devotion. It’s glorious, really.
