‘Nigrum Mortem’ is the prog-rocky single from DJ Muggs the Black Goat “Dies Occidendum'“, a soundtrack to a film that doesn’t exist, steeped in Tarot imagery and magic(k) and feeding off of vintage plague-and-mortality films like The Seventh Seal. You probably know DJ Muggs from his multi-Grammy-winning production for Cypress Hill and Soul Assassins, but this project on Sacred Bones sounds is definitely taking him in a different, very interesting direction. I just remembered I once met DJ Muggs when he was DJ’ing on a corporate event in Brussels that featured ‘urban knitting’. He was very nice. Although I can imagine being flown over from the US for ‘urban knitting’ could trigger a fleeting yearning for the apocalypse.
