Ok, so sorry to be in my feels but I really do feel like Marie Davidson's “City of Clowns" isn’t getting the flower-showering it deserves. With stellar production by DEEWEE and drag-me-to-capitalist-hell lyricism, this heady album should be a no-brainer for this year's best album listicles. Case in point: the VHS-ish video for “Demolition”, with its sweaty beat luridly grinding up against the ghost of New Beat and staccato lyrics taking on the persona of a demonic algorithm, horny for your data/soul.
