Hi.

Këkht Aräkh - 'Three winters away'

Këkht Aräkh - 'Three winters away'

True, I have a leathery soft spot for all things Black Metal. But this young ghoul named Këkht Aräkh deserves a broader cult following. “Three Winters Away” comes armed with all of the genre’s spikes and tropes: the DIY feel, the lone wolf multi-instrumental artist, the grainy video aesthetics, the overwrought lyrics (“In the deepest dream without sleep / The pale crescent grins at the world / Revealing the night’s sharp teeth / Chewing on someone’s sorrow.”), the melodically soaring angst, all of that. But secretly, this song is a bop. And Këth’s video moves are – dare we say it? – almost dance moves. I am told (by the internet) that the new album “Morning Star” even has a Bladee feature on it. Out on March 27th.
