GHOSTFUNK: GHOSTFACE KILLAH AFRICAN FUNK MIXTAPE

If you don't think Ghostface is one the greatest MC's of all time, I will fight you.

Ghostface Killah is the Vladimir Nabokov of rap. Who else writes lyrics like these:

"Swing the John McEnroe, rap rock'n'roll Tidy Bowl, gung-ho pro, Starsky with the gumsole"

or makes you think this is an actual sentence:

"Scooby snack jurassic plastic gas booby trap"

Listening to Ghostface Killah lyrics is like watching rainbows form in the sky or butterflies emerge from pupa. I don't understand how it happens. I don't know why it makes me happy. But it does.

Instead of rapping about chains, he talks about "lampin' on the throne in a King Tut hat". And don't get me started on his attention to detail when it comes to storytelling:

"A live gunslinger well known, born to dance When the heat is on, Stapleton days, shoot hisself in the groin The gun went off, it looked like a flick When he fell to the floor, holdin his nuts, screamin "God damnit Shit I put one in my balls, what the fuck y'all lookin at me for? Anyway, this mixtape by Max Tannone blends Ghost lyrics with vintage African funk. I really like it. It's the Lolita of Mixtapes! Not really. But it's good. You should listen.
