Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!
All in music
M.I.A. bought a new URL called http://yesthelittlepeoplewillneverwinbuttheycanfuckshitup.com/ and posted what everyone is calling her new video for 'Story To Be Told' on it. Seems more like stage visuals to me. I'm sure she wouldn't mind me saying you can make up your own mind: click the link and get ready to be dropped down a rabbit-hole of infinite computer clutter.
Aloe Blacc's "I Need A Dollar" is an actual radio hit over here in Brussels and his second album "Good Things" has become one of the more anticipated albums this year. We've had it in the office since this weekend, and yesterday I did a live review on Twitter.
Andre 3 stacks is one of the greatest MC's of all time/ coolest motherf*ckers on the planet. Not much else to be said about that. While we're holding our breath for the new Outkast album, we're more than happy to cop this fresh 'n clean 'best of Andre 3000' mix by DJ Ideal.
What’s your vice? Nasal spray, that nose clearing spray they tell you not to use for more than 3 days, been on that twice a day for a few months now. I just need to be able to smell the world or I freak out.
Yesterday was Michael Joseph Jackson's birthday. A moment of silence is not the right way to remember him. This mixtape by J.Period seems a bit more appropriate.
Hova does the power clap and drops a verse on Swizzee's beats. It's whatch'all been waitin' for ain't it?
A mixtape of slowed down rave and re-animated pop corpses, creating something wicked (yeah, that's right, I'm bringing back 'wicked') and cruel. Watch mind-blowing Cosmotropia de Xam videos to zombie versions of Abba, Lady Gaga and more.
Yes! The perfect surprise drop to start the weekend. Dominican beats, Street Fighter samples and Prince Zimboo in full effect. Get it before Lady Gaga steals it.
I don't really get why everyone keeps talking shit about M.I.A. I was watching the new (not Hype Williams-directed) video for XXO on Vulture, whose resident blogger seems to be offended by M.I.A. not smiling throughout the video. Really? That's your critique? You have to smile in a video to make it?
Download a huuuuge two-hour mixtape of the best AW 2010 fashion week runway tracks.
"Screams from the haters/got a nice ring to it/I guess every superhero need his theme music."
How normal can a person look before it starts getting creepy? Let's find out in this weird new video for the boys from Ratatat.
Kenneth "Do what thou wilt, shall be the whole of the law." Anger, the 83-year old director, artist and living legend of avant garde awesome cinema, has directed a film for Missoni's Fall-Winter 2010 campaign. The soundtrack is by current cult fashion favourite and allround mystery man Koudlam.
Here it is: 6 track snippets off of the Daft Punk soundtack to the new Tron movie. It doesn't sound like the new Daft Punk bangers everyone is waiting for, but it is dark and moody and huge, like I hoped it would be.
Dutch band 'Palmbomen' released an EP that will be classified as 'chillwave' by your local snobby record dealer: muted synths, lo-fi vocals and a chill vibe. Think Human League, played by Ariel Pink. Here's the single: "Moon Children"
Deerhunter just gave away two new songs as a present to their fans: "Revival" (the new single off of the soon to be released album Halcyon Digest) and B-side Primitive 3D.
