Here it is: 6 track snippets off of the Daft Punk soundtack to the new Tron movie. It doesn't sound like the new Daft Punk bangers everyone is waiting for, but it is dark and moody and huge, like I hoped it would be.
Dutch band 'Palmbomen' released an EP that will be classified as 'chillwave' by your local snobby record dealer: muted synths, lo-fi vocals and a chill vibe. Think Human League, played by Ariel Pink. Here's the single: "Moon Children"
Deerhunter just gave away two new songs as a present to their fans: "Revival" (the new single off of the soon to be released album Halcyon Digest) and B-side Primitive 3D.

With all these summer mixtapes dropping like tired old flies, this unexpected gem is my favourite find so far.

Opinions differ on the new Scott-Heron album "I'm New Here". I was talking to Theophilus London about it the day before his gig and he thought it was a hipster make-over of someone who didn't need a make-over. I agree. But I also think we should be thankful for him being able to release matrial at all, kids discovering his music and you cannot deny there are some standout tracks to be cherished by fans and newbies alike. The title track is special to me because we've just moved house and I'm a sucker for 'this-track-was-made-for-my-life-right-now-I-swear!' moments.
