Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!
1. The Horrors "Mirror's Image". From what is still the best album of the year in my book (Major Lazer and Warm Heart of Africa and Jay Reatard close behind...) 2. From the soon-to-be-released Bloody Beetroots album 'Romborama': a slow stomper of a dance track feat. The Cool Kids. (Top image: Bambi licking a frog...)
Wakey wakey. New Lightning Bolt! Their new album, "Earthly Delights", 5 years in the making, will finally be released in October.
The first single off of this mythical beast is called "Colossus" and, shockingly, it's a real song with a riff and almost audible lyrics and stuff.
he Hickey Underworld for 'Blonde Fire'! The Hickey Underworld's 'Blonde Fire' is one of my favourite tracks of the year, taken from the self titled debut, produced by Das Pop. It's like a three-minute kick in the groin... but in a good way.
Video: Diplo remix of Twist and Shout from Ferris Bueller's Day Off, a video remix tribute to the late, great John Hughes.
Who cares about directing new videos anymore when you can just as easily edit together vintage zombie erotica, surf flicks and a zombie vs. killer whale fight scene for your dance track?
Major Lazer is continuing their ongoing bombardment of all things essential (see: shirts, mishka mix, essential mix) with an incredibly outrageous video for the best track on their debut album: 'Pon De Floor'.
I'm planning to wear the coolest sweat-combo's all day every day. These 'Better Off Dead' sweatshirts would be ideal.
Grand daddy of the underground scene Robert Crumb has licensed some of his work for an exclusive micro collection chez Sixpack.
If I had a time machine next to the water cooler, I'd nip out to a quiet beach in Ibiza circa 1978 with D and take this mix with me as a present to the natives. I'm sure they would appreciate it.
A bit harder and dubsteppy than you're used to from the Major, but definitely worth the D/L.
